a gift

from this vast distance i imagine everyday a sunshine for you
i calculate the time zones, i add and subtract minutes and hours
so the sun in mind, the wind in my arms, the blue skies in my belly can be
precisely synchronized to your waking hours and
your every breath
i imagine fresh air, tasty fruits, soft ground
a world to embrace you from the moment you awake

stuck at the corner of an odd little
far away bedroom that communicates nothing to me
in my mind, i imagine a home, a time, a present, and deliver to you
every day
that's my way to treat myself too
expanding space and time
from my tiny little squeezed up heart
i imagine life and meaning
and i imagine smile and i imagine all that
for you
it's like the work of an architect that will never end
